Black 'corset' pants
"I bought these pants in my first order, so I was a little unsure of the sizing (since the size chart has issues around my size, which turns out to be between a 16 and an 18, depending on the style of bottom). In other brands, I'm usually anywhere from a 16-22 in bottoms, but most commonly an 18 or a 20, with 18 being my go-to first pick. I bought these pants in a 20, having bought others in the same order in either an 18 or a 20, and the reason I bought these particular pants in the bigger of the two sizes is because I figured the 'corset' detail (side note, we've really gotten lax on what that word means) would help cinch them in a little if they were a little too big. They were, in fact, too big (I've since learned that if the pants are stretchy or a looser cut, I'm almost always a size 16, but if they're less stretchy or a tighter cut without adjustability, I'm a size 18), and I exchanged them for a size 16, which arrived yesterday. The new pair fit my hips like a glove, to the point where I need to make sure the ties are tied as loosely as possible so that I don't need to untie and retie them every time I unzip the side zip to go to the bathroom, because they DO help cinch a BIT, but if try to tie them to TOO tight (like I did with the size 20 version), they bunch up really weirdly. Again, they fit my hip measurement perfectly, but they're maybe an inch too big for my waist (ideally, I would be a size 14 waist, but then the hips really wouldn't fit, and I can't size up for slightly more room in the hips (like I would typically prefer) because then the waist wouldn't fit. The pants are a really soft material that doesn't feel flimsy, and the hook and eye is actually useful here (and functional, unlike one of the skirts I bought which had a thread blocking the eye. These pants had clearly had a thread wrapped around the eye as well, but unlike the skirt, this thread being broken prior to delivery didn't cause the eye to come loose) since the fit is so snug in the hips for me. I will say that the material of these pants seems quite, erm... prone to riding up? In the crotch region? I don't think it would be as prevalent/noticeable if the fit around the hips and thighs was looser on me, and it isn't really that bad, it's just something to consider. The zip also gets a little stuck as it crosses the bottom of the waistband, which happened on that skirt I mentioned, too. As for the length, I'm 5'1 1/2", and these pants are a little long (I know, shocker), but they're actually not THAT much too long (maybe like, three and a half inches or 4 inches?), so if you're much taller than about 5'5 1/2" and you're the same size as me, they might start getting a bit ankle-freezy, just fyi. Again, these are the most minor of quibbles, these pants are great, and the exchange process was easy, painless, and only cost $10.99 handling for the four items I exchanged from this order."
