Dark Green Faux-Wrap Peplum Top
"This is one of my least favorite items from my first two You and All orders. Not because it's a bad shirt, but because the style is what I like to call 'Baby Shower Chic' on me. There is a certain style of top that is tight in the bust and then at least slightly looser in the stomach that just makes me look happily pregnant. Like I'm hosting a baby shower. I recently got rid of a light green shirt I already had that had a faux-wrap v-neck part over the bust, then a slightly looser (but still tighter than this) part over the belly (it was a very 2000's/early 2010's shirt), and I feel like this top is it's spiritual successor, unfortunately. The only thing that would make this shirt look more 'baby shower'-y on me is if it were in a pastel color. Don't get me wrong, it is a very fine top, it just makes me look pregnant, in part because of how high my stomach sits in general. If that isn't an issue for you (if you don't mind looking pregnant, having a lower belly than me, or perhaps even ARE pregnant and are looking for a top that will flatter you), then this top is great, but I need to find a way to style it that isn't quite so 'baby shower'-esque. Maybe I'll put a long sleeve white shirt under it, and really lean into that 2000's/early 2010's vibe."
